Bharmour — A meeting under the Van Dhan Yojana was organized at the Forest Department office in Bharmour subdivision on Thursday. The session was chaired by Divisional Forest Officer Navnath Mane, who emphasized that the Van Dhan Scheme is a key initiative for tribal development.

The scheme aims to enhance the income of tribal communities by adding value to forest-based products. Plans are underway to establish Van Dhan Vikas Kendras (VDVKs) in tribal regions, which will serve as clusters for skill development, capacity building, and infrastructure support.

During the meeting, members of self-help groups were briefed on forest produce and related activities. Participants included Sanjay Kumar, Manorama Devi, and Surinder Preetam Sharma from Holi, who are associated with the VDVKs.
