Sundernagar is set to witness a grand fusion of sports, music and social awareness with the hosting of the Himachal Cricket Celebrity League at the MLSM College Ground on Friday, January 16. The mega sports and cultural event is being organised by the Feet of Fire Foundation with a strong message of “Say No to Drugs” and a special focus on youth engagement and women empowerment.
Sharing details of the programme, Feet of Fire Foundation Managing Director Amit Bhatia said the initiative aims to create awareness among young people about the dangers of drug abuse and encourage them to adopt a healthy, disciplined and positive lifestyle through sports and cultural activities.
“The idea is to connect with the youth through cricket and music while delivering a powerful social message against drug addiction. We want to inspire the younger generation to choose the right path and stay away from harmful habits,” Bhatia said.
The event will begin at 10 am with the arrival of the chief guest, followed by an exciting cricket match between the Feet of Fire Team and the Himachali Celebrity Team. In a special effort to promote women empowerment, the Shimla Hills Cricket Club women’s team will also participate in a competitive match during the league.
Apart from the cricket action, the audience will be treated to live performances by popular artists, who will also use the platform to spread awareness about drug-free living and social responsibility.
Amit Bhatia, a well-known youth icon and social activist, has consistently provided a platform to emerging talent and actively contributed to social causes. Several artists trained under his guidance are today performing on national and international platforms. For his contribution to youth development and social service, he has received multiple national and international honours.
The Feet of Fire Foundation has been actively engaged in social service for the past 11 years and continues to play an important role in promoting sports, culture and youth welfare across Himachal Pradesh.
The upcoming celebrity league has generated strong enthusiasm among people in Sundernagar and surrounding areas and is expected to attract a large audience.
