Continuing its ongoing campaign against illegal mining, the Nurpur Police has carried out a major crackdown, seizing four vehicles found engaged in unlawful excavation activities that posed serious risks to public property.
- Nagrota Surian Police Post Action:
During a raid under the railway bridge area, police teams discovered a JCB machine (JK14L-1178) and a tractor (JK19A-7006) involved in illegal mining. The excavation near the bridge was endangering its structural safety. Both vehicles were immediately seized and challaned under the Mining Act. - Guhan Area:
Another tractor (HP97A-4715) was caught red-handed while mining illegally in the khad and was impounded on the spot. - Sadwan Police Post:
Acting swiftly on a complaint of illegal mining at the mouth of a khad, police teams intercepted a tractor (HP38J-2209) engaged in excavation. The vehicle was challaned, seized, and the case has been forwarded to the Hon’ble ACJM Court, Nurpur.
In total, four vehicles have been challaned and impounded during this operation.
The Nurpur Police has made it clear that any illegal activity causing damage to government property will not be tolerated, and strict action will continue against violators in the future.
