The annual prize distribution ceremony of Government High School Dhalog was held with great enthusiasm under the chairmanship of Vidhan Sabha Speaker Kuldeep Singh Pathania.
On this occasion, the Speaker inaugurated a newly constructed additional school building, built at a cost of ₹40.53 lakh, and honored meritorious students who excelled not only in academics but also in extracurricular activities throughout the year.
Focus on Holistic Development
In his address, Pathania praised the achievements of the students and emphasized that participation in sports, cultural, and creative activities is essential for their all-round development. He highlighted the state government’s continuous efforts to strengthen quality education, noting that under the leadership of Chief Minister Thakur Sukhvinder Singh Sukhu, Himachal Pradesh has advanced from the 21st to the 5th position in the national education rankings.
Support for Orphaned Children
Pathania underlined the government’s commitment to social welfare, stating that nearly 6,000 orphaned children in the state are receiving financial assistance, protection, education, and support for a better future. He remarked that this is the first time in the country’s history that a government has taken full responsibility for the holistic development of orphaned children.
Development in Bhatiyat Constituency
The Speaker also spoke about ongoing development works in the Bhatiyat Assembly constituency, with special emphasis on road construction to connect all villages. He assured residents that departmental formalities are being completed to provide road facilities across the region. He credited successive Congress governments for strengthening infrastructural resources in Bhatiyat.
Announcements for School Facilities
Responding to the school management’s demands, Pathania announced funds for the construction of a boundary wall and a playground. He also pledged ₹21,000 to promote cultural activities in the school.
The ceremony began with the traditional lighting of the lamp, followed by a warm welcome from the school management committee and local residents. Students presented vibrant cultural performances based on Hindi, Punjabi, and Himachali folk traditions.

Cluster Principal Pritam Singh Thakur presented the annual school report. The event was attended by Additional Superintendent of Police Dinesh Sharma, Sub-Divisional Magistrate (Civil) Anil Bhardwaj, Deputy Superintendent of Police Ranjan Sharma, Divisional Forest Officer Rajneesh Mahajan, Deputy Director of School Education Quality Bhag Singh, Executive Engineer Rakesh Thakur, Block Development Officer Anil Gurada, local Panchayat Pradhan Sudesh Kumari, along with other officials, school students, parents, and prominent local citizens.
