Bhatiyat constituency is set to become an emerging education hub with the establishment of a Skill University, following approval and issuance of a Letter of Intent by the state government.
Announcing the development, Vidhan Sabha Speaker Kuldeep Singh Pathania said the university will provide quality technical and vocational education at the local level, boosting skill development and creating new employment opportunities.
He was addressing the annual prize distribution ceremony “Excellencia–2025: Celebrating the Achievers of Tomorrow” at Rising Star Public School, Chuwari, where meritorious students were honored. Pathania emphasized that the Skill University fulfills a promise made to the youth and will promote modern industrial training, self-employment, and entrepreneurship.
The Speaker also revealed that a Civil Court and divisional offices of key departments, including the Forest Division, are proposed to be opened in Bhatiyat. These facilities will save residents from traveling long distances for essential services.
Highlighting the government’s recent decision to affiliate over 100 government senior secondary schools with the CBSE, Pathania called it a historic step that will enhance educational quality and give students greater opportunities to compete at the national level.
During the event, he inaugurated the program with a lamp-lighting ceremony, awarded prizes to outstanding students, and announced a grant of ₹31,000 to support the school’s cultural activities.
The Speaker was felicitated with a shawl, cap, and memento by the school management. The program featured vibrant cultural performances by students.
The event was attended by senior officials, local leaders, school management members, parents, and students, including Forest Corporation Director Krishna Chand Chela, former Block Congress President Vijay Kanwar, and SDM Manish Soni.
