In less than six months, District Sirmaur has witnessed its second protest by the unemployed youth, raising serious questions about the state government’s failure to address the rising discontent among Himachal’s educated yet jobless youth.
Organised by the Unemployed Youth of the Distt Sirmaur. The, the protest reflects a growing statewide unrest against the controversial Job Trainee Policy, which many believe is exploitative and devoid of long-term employment guarantees.
HUYF State Coordinator Shrey Awasthi issued a strong warning to the government:
“If the government continues to turn a blind eye, our next stops are Kullu and Bilaspur, and finally — amid the Monsoon Session — a massive state-level peaceful protest will erupt in the capital. This time, the government will be forced to face the voice and emotions of the youth head-on.”
With youth from across the state rallying behind the cause, this movement is no longer just a protest — it’s a youth-led revolution demanding dignity, employment, and accountability and rolling back of the job trainee policy which is unacceptable to the youth at any cost.
