Kangra: Shrey Awasthi, an author and a writer from Kangra district in Himachal Pradesh, has released his debut book, ‘Himachal’s Youth: Beyond Govt. Jobs’, with focus on reshaping the mindset of the unemployed youth in the state.

Available on Amazon and Flipkart, the book has come at a time when lakhs of young job aspirants are facing an uncertain future due to limited government vacancies.

Awasthi’s book delivers an urgent and inspiring message: there is life, growth and success beyond government jobs. The book is a call to Himachal’s youth to explore opportunities in the private sector, entrepreneurship and self-employment, fields where many from the state have already carved out inspiring success stories.

Drawing from real-life examples of entrepreneurs and change-makers from Himachal Pradesh, Awasthi presents a roadmap of possibilities, proving that the state’s youth can become job creators, not just job seekers.

“This book is a tribute to the dreams of Himachali youth who feel stuck waiting for a government job. My goal is to show them that their talent and energy can shine in the private sector too,” said Awasthi at the launch.

The author expressed special thanks to his mentors Prof SP Singh Baghel, Union Minister of State, and Major Vijay Singh Mankotia, a decorated veteran and visionary leader. “They have been a beam of light in my journey. Their guidance gave me the courage and conviction to write this book,” Awasthi noted.

With an eye on youth empowerment and self-reliance, “Himachal’s Youth: Beyond Govt. Jobs” is more than just a book, aligning with the national vision of Aatmanirbhar Bharat and underscoring the importance of skill development, innovation and entrepreneurship in building a vibrant and forward-looking Himachal.
