Chief Minister Thakur Sukhvinder Singh Sukhu chaired a high-level meeting on revenue matters today, attended by Principal Advisor to the CM Ram Subhag Singh, Chief Secretary Sanjay Gupta, senior officers, and virtually joined by Deputy Commissioners of all districts.
The Chief Minister directed that beginning January 5, 2026, all Tehsildars and Naib Tehsildars will hear land partition (Taksim) cases every Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday, ensuring 12 hearing days per month. Deputy Commissioners will review progress every Saturday and submit reports to the Additional Chief Secretary (Revenue), while the Revenue Secretary will present a detailed update to Revenue Minister Jagat Singh Negi each Monday. The Minister will then brief the Chief Minister on the last Monday of every month.
Sukhu also instructed the Revenue Department to compile complete details of private, forest, and government land in the state, along with information on pending cases in revenue courts, categorized by type and duration. Stressing time-bound resolution, he ordered that all pending correction-related revenue cases be cleared by March 31, 2026.
To accelerate the process, the CM directed the re-engagement of retired Patwaris, Kanungos, Naib Tehsildars, and Tehsildars, and emphasized proper training for officers and staff.
Revenue Minister Jagat Singh Negi offered key suggestions to ensure timely disposal of cases. It was noted that under Revenue Lok Adalats, from October 2023 till now, 4,24,368 mutation cases, 25,918 land partition cases, 47,075 demarcation cases, and 12,896 correction cases have already been resolved across Himachal Pradesh.
