Seven-Day NSS Camp Begins at Government College Bharmour

Bharmour – A seven-day National Service Scheme (NSS) camp commenced at Government College Bharmour on December 3, with Principal Dr. Hemant Pal inaugurating the program by lighting the ceremonial lamp. Addressing the volunteers, he encouraged them to work with team spirit and dedicate themselves to social service.

This year, 25 volunteers are participating in the camp. During the week-long program, they will gain insights into topics such as lifestyle and hygiene, environmental conservation, drug-free living, and community development.

Camp Leadership and Participation

  • The camp is being coordinated by NSS Program Officer Mr. Sugreev Kumar, who is overseeing all arrangements.
  • The inaugural ceremony also welcomed Dr. Harnam Singh as chief guest.
  • Faculty members including Mr. Swaroop Kumar, Dr. Rajendra Singh, Mr. Vivek Kumar, Mr. Naresh Kumar, Mr. Vishal Ahir, Mr. Thukton, and Dr. Arvind Kumar were present.

Activities and Social Responsibility

The camp, scheduled from December 3 to December 9, saw its first major activity on December 4, when NSS volunteers carried out a cleanliness drive at the historic Chaurasi temple complex. They collected and disposed of waste as part of the initiative.

On this occasion, Dr. Rajendra Singh served as the keynote speaker, guiding students on the importance of cleanliness and social responsibility.

Purpose of the Camp

The seven-day NSS camp is aimed at instilling social sensitivity, discipline, and a spirit of service among students. It reflects the college’s commitment to nurturing responsible citizens through experiential learning and community engagement.
