To commemorate the birth anniversary of freedom fighter and India’s first Deputy Prime Minister, Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel, Bharmour Subdivision witnessed a spirited celebration of National Unity Day. The Bharmour Police organized a marathon run early this morning, symbolizing the values of unity, strength, and national integration that Patel stood for.
The event was led by Bharmour Station House Officer (SHO) Babu Ram Sharma, who flagged off the run and encouraged participants to uphold the legacy of the Iron Man of India. Students and teachers from DAV Public School, Bharmour, participated enthusiastically, adding youthful energy and community spirit to the occasion.

Personnel from Bharmour Police and Home Guards also joined the marathon in large numbers, showcasing solidarity and commitment to the ideals of national unity. The route, which passed through key areas of the subdivision, drew attention from locals who gathered to cheer the runners and pay tribute to Sardar Patel.
Speaking at the event, SHO Babu Ram Sharma emphasized the importance of remembering Patel’s role in unifying India and urged the youth to embody his values of discipline, courage, and service. The marathon concluded with a brief ceremony honoring all participants and reiterating the significance of National Unity Day.
