The Road Safety Club of Maharaja Sansar Chand Memorial Government College at Thural in Kangra district of Himachal Pradesh organised a slogan-writing and poster-making competition on Thursday (December 26, 2024) to raise awareness about road safety and the dangers of drunken driving.
A total of 46 students participated in the event, which saw creative expressions of responsibility on the road.
The event was graced by college Principal Raka Sharma as the chief guest.
In her address, Sharma stressed the importance of wearing helmets and seat belts, maintaining controlled speed and never mixing drinking with driving. She commended the students for their active participation in such initiatives that contribute to a safer society.
The results of the poster-making competition were announced during the event. Payal won the first prize, while Anshu and Shivani secured second and third places, respectively.
The programme was attended by Road Safety Club coordinator Prof Lekh Ram Negi, along with Prof Palsra, Prof Amit Sharma, Prof Pawan Rana, Prof Prem Lata, Prof Ajay, Prof Navita, Prof Sunny Rana, Prof Ritu, Prof Apoorva and Prof Amanjeet.
Their presence motivated the students and underscored the college’s commitment to promoting road safety.
All students in attendance were served refreshments, adding to the cheerful and interactive atmosphere of the event.
