The relief and rehabilitation process for families affected by the Kangra Airport expansion project has picked up pace in Valswalakad village, Gaggal. Today, the land acquisition team secured consent from affected families regarding their preferred rehabilitation options.

Project Coordinator Ranjit Thakur informed that 85 families from Valswalakad have opted for the first package, which provides a one-time relief of ₹37 lakh per family. He explained that the administration had placed multiple rehabilitation options before the families, ensuring transparency in the process.

“Every family was given complete information about the available options before their consent was recorded,” Thakur stated. He added that the remaining families will also be consulted soon to finalize their choices.

The initiative marks a significant step forward in ensuring fair compensation and rehabilitation for residents impacted by the airport expansion project.
