MANDI: BJP chief spokesperson and Sundernagar MLA Rakesh Jamwal has criticised Himachal Pradesh PWD Minister Vikramaditya Singh for allegedly misleading the public by reinaugurating projects approved and completed during the previous BJP government’s tenure.
Rakesh Jamwal alleged that PWD Minister Vikramaditya was attempting to gain undue credit by placing his own plaques on previously sanctioned projects.
The BJP MLA alleged that during his visit to Sundernagar, Vikramaditya Singh laid the foundation stone for an officer’s residence that had “already been under construction for six months”.
“He reinaugurated the Dehri Park, which was previously inaugurated,” said Rakesh Jamwal, calling these actions as a “political stunt” and accusing the minister of diverting public attention from the current government’s lack of new initiatives.

‘No significant development in two and a half years’
Speaking to the media, MLA Rakesh Jamwal asserted that Vikramaditya Singh had failed to bring any substantial development projects to the state during his tenure.
He challenged the minister to name a single major project approved by Chief Minister Sukhvinder Singh Sukhu on his recommendation or any new scheme initiated by the Congress-led government.
“The minister is misleading the public with false claims of development. Instead of focusing on new projects, he is busy affixing his name to those sanctioned under the BJP government,” said Jamwal.
He further claimed that the Sundernagar Municipal Council, where 10 out of 13 councillors belong to the BJP, was deliberately sidelined during the minister’s visit, highlighting what he termed as “political bias”.
BJP vows to expose Congress govt’s alleged misgovernance
The BJP spokesperson also accused the Congress government of indulging in political theatrics instead of delivering tangible results.
He warned that the public would see through these strategies and respond accordingly in the 2027 elections.
“The people of Himachal Pradesh understand the reality. Development is about genuine work, not about hijacking previous government’s projects for political gain. The Congress government will be held accountable for its actions,” he said.
