Mandi/Sujanpur: Targeting Congress Chief Minister Sukhu, former MLA and BJP candidate for the Sujanpur by-election, Rajendra Rana, took to the streets on Wednesday, addressing multiple corner meetings across the Sujanpur Assembly constituency.
Accusing Chief Minister Sukhu of neglecting Sujanpur’s development for the past 14 months and now pretending to be its benefactor during the election period, Rana rallied the people against what he termed as Sukhu’s deceit.
Rana emphasized the readiness of the people of Sujanpur to deliver a strong message to Sukhu. He declared that the countdown for the Sukhu government has begun, with June 1 marked as the day of reckoning, when voters will reject what he called the “government of friends.”
Criticizing the current administration, Rana condemned it as the first in Himachal Pradesh’s history to allow rampant exploitation, which continuously harms public interests. He highlighted the unity of the entire BJP cadre, actively campaigning in Sujanpur, contrasting with the struggles of the Congress.
Expressing confidence in the BJP’s victory, Rana predicted success in all four Lok Sabha seats and six assembly by-elections, attributing it to people’s support for the double-engine government on June 1. He claimed that the Sukhu government is on life support, which will be disconnected after the elections.
Rana pointed out the escalating public discontent, citing Chief Minister Sukhu’s mounting troubles due to his minority government’s dwindling popularity. He questioned Sukhu’s sincerity as a benefactor, highlighting the closure of IPH and Electrical Department divisions in Sujanpur and the failure to appoint specialist doctors at the Civil Hospital. Additionally, he criticized the insufficient compensation provided for damages incurred during the rains.
In conclusion, Rana asserted that Chief Minister Sukhu’s facade will no longer sway the people of Sujanpur.
