Shimla: As many as 18 officers and personnel of the Himachal Pradesh Police have successfully cleared the prestigious Himachal Pradesh Finance & Accounts Service (HPF&AS) examination, securing 18 out of 29 total posts. This accomplishment has brought immense pride not only to the department but also to the state, highlighting the dedication, perseverance and multifaceted talent within the police force.

This success is the result of the department’s consistent focus on capacity building and professional development under the leadership of IPS officer and Director General of Police Ashok Tewari. The DGP’s emphasis on holistic growth — beyond traditional policing — has fostered a culture of continuous learning and excellence within the ranks.

The selected police personnel will now be appointed as section officers and will undergo further training at Himachal Pradesh Institute of Public Administration (HIPA), Fairlawns, Shimla. This transition into administrative roles marks a new chapter in their careers, enabling them to contribute directly to the financial governance of the state.

The list of successful candidates includes police personnel from across the state and various battalions: LHC Gaytri Devi (CTS, HP SDRF), HC Ritish Kumar (1st HPAP Bn.), Ct. Anil Kumar (HP SDRF, Pandoh), Ct. Amanpreet Singh (PD Baddi), L/Ct. Damini and L/Ct. Sheetal Guleria (3rd IRBn, Pandoh), Ct. Bhanu Pratap Thakur (3rd IRBn), L/Ct. Rajni Saini (5th IRBn, Bassi), L/Ct. Priyanka and Ct. Deepak Beetan (District Kinnaur), Ct. Himanshu Kashyap (Cyber PS, Mandi), Ct. Soraubh Sharma (4th IRBn, Jhandutta Beri), Ct. Vinod Kumar (PD Baddi), L/Ct. Pooja Sharma, Ct. Narender Singh, Ct. Amit Thakur (1st HPAP Bn.), Ct. Shiv Kumar (3rd IRBn), and L/Ct. Minakshi Rana (5th IRBn, Bassi).

Their success has been widely celebrated within the police department, which sees this achievement as a shining example of what can be accomplished when opportunity, support and hard work align. The department has extended its heartfelt congratulations to all 18 staff members and expressed confidence that they will bring the same dedication and integrity to their new roles as they have shown in policing.

Senior officers believe this milestone will inspire many more personnel across the force to pursue administrative and academic opportunities. It also reinforces the belief that police personnel are capable of excelling in complex, multidisciplinary domains beyond conventional law enforcement.

The DGP, along with the entire leadership of Himachal Pradesh Police, has reaffirmed the department’s commitment to continue providing such opportunities for professional development.
