Government Arya Degree College (GADC), Nurpur, celebrated International Women’s Day with a vibrant program of educational and creative activities under the leadership of Principal Dr. Anil Kumar Thakur.
The event was organized by the Internal Complaint Committee (ICC) against Sexual Harassment, with the aim of empowering students through awareness of their legal rights. The program was coordinated by Prof. Kiran Bala (Assistant Professor, Commerce), supported by committee members Lt. Surjeet Kumar, Prof. Pearl Bakshi, and Dr. Manoj Kumar.
The day’s activities were dedicated to the global theme of women’s empowerment, with a special focus on the POSH (Prevention of Sexual Harassment) Act. Prof. Bala and her team sensitized students on the importance of maintaining a safe, respectful, and gender-neutral campus environment.
A total of 15 students participated in the Poster-Making Competition, including two special entries from the Rangers unit. In the Declamation Contest, students expressed their views on gender equality and safety.

- Poster-Making: Ruchi and Renu (B.Com 1st Year), Deepanshi Thakur and Manpreet (B.Com Final Year).
- Declamation: Kanan (B.Com 1st Year), Sahil and Arush (B.Com Final Year), Siddharth (B.Com 2nd Year).
Principal Dr. Anil Kumar Thakur praised the ICC for its proactive role in educating youth and fostering a culture of safety and equality, noting that such initiatives strengthen the values of respect and empowerment on campus.
