In a significant political development, Manish Sareen, the former Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) candidate from the Dalhousie Assembly constituency in the 2022 elections, officially joined the Indian National Congress along with his supporters.
The induction took place at the Gandhi Ground in Nagrota Bagwan during a three-day Bal Mela, organised to celebrate the 71st birthday of GS Bali. The event was graced by Deputy Chief Minister Mukesh Agnihotri, Minister Rajesh Dharmani, and RS Bali himself, who welcomed the new members by presenting them with the party’s symbolic attire.
Among those who joined Congress with Sareen were Rajesh Chaubiyal, Ichha Ram Tandon, Yograj Mahajan, Vishal Singh, Rajat Sharma, Vikas Dhiman, and Vikas Singh. All were previously affiliated with AAP, where Sareen served as the state spokesperson.
Manish Sareen stated that he and his supporters were inspired by the Congress party’s policies, which they believe prioritize the welfare of both the state and the nation. He emphasized that Congress is the only party consistently working toward progress and public interest.
