Palampur: Palampur MLA Ashish Butail stated that providing high-quality healthcare services to citizens remains a key priority for the government. He noted that meaningful efforts are being undertaken through the Patient Welfare Committee (RKS) at Palampur Civil Hospital to serve patients from Palampur and neighbouring areas.
Butail was speaking at the annual governing body meeting of the RKS, held on Saturday at the Civil Hospital in Palampur. The meeting was chaired by Palampur SDM Netra Meti with Butail attending as a special invitee.

Congratulating the entire team at the Palampur Civil Hospital, the MLA said the hospital was among the leading healthcare providers in the state. He emphasised that improved healthcare services are being extended not only to Palampur residents but also to those in surrounding regions.
He announced that MRI facilities would soon be made available at the hospital and directed the hospital management to initiate the necessary steps. He assured that there would be no shortage of funds for healthcare improvements and other developmental initiatives within the Palampur Assembly constituency.
During the meeting, he also proposed extending formal thanks to individuals and organisations that have contributed to enhancing the hospital’s facilities.
Butail urged RKS members, health department officials and representatives from all departments present at the meeting to work collaboratively to further enhance the hospital’s services.
He noted that the hospital already possesses a strong foundation in terms of infrastructure and has access to specialists in fields such as general medicine, ophthalmology, orthopaedics, gynaecology and general surgery. He also offered key suggestions during the meeting and pledged his full support. The governing body unanimously approved a budget of Rs 1.61 crore for the financial year 2025-26.
SDM Netra Meti called on all RKS members and the general public to actively contribute ideas and suggestions for improving patient care. She also recommended organising CPR training camps in educational institutions.
The meeting was attended by Mayor Gopal Nag, Wool Federation Board member Trilok Chand, Municipal Commissioner Dr Ashish Sharma, Medical Superintendent Dr Tilak Bhagra, Senior Medical Officer Dr SChakravarti, Councillor Dilbag Singh, Sanjeev Baghla and nominated RKS members Surendra Sood, Gopal Sood, Ajay Sood and Aditya Saluja.
