The trainees of B.Voc (retail management) level-4 from the government college at Chamba in Himachal Pradesh have commenced their one-month on-the-job training (OJT), thus gaining valuable hands-on experience in the retail industry.
The training is being held at prominent retail locations across Chamba district, including at Reliance Trends at Banikhet and Chamba; and Chamba’s Jio Mart and at the showrooms of Hero, Honda and Yamaha in Chamba.
College Principal Madan Lal Guleria emphasised the importance of practical exposure, stating that such experiences bridge the gap between theory and practice, enabling students to develop communication, teamwork, and problem-solving skills essential for the retail industry.
Chaman Singh, nodal officer of the programme, highlighted that students would learn key aspects of retail management, including customer service, inventory management, sales strategies and consumer behaviour.
Trainer Chandan Chona credited Edubridge Learning Pvt. Ltd. for facilitating the training. He affirmed that this initiative equips students with practical expertise, making them industry-ready professionals.
