Vinay Gali, popularly known as Lambi Gali in Noorpur, has once again come under public scrutiny. Named in memory of Second Lieutenant Vinay Kaul, who sacrificed his life in the 1971 India–Pakistan war, the street holds deep historical and emotional significance for the town.
Despite long-awaited repair work being completed recently, the condition of the lane has already deteriorated, raising serious questions about the efficiency of the local administration. Broken drains, uneven construction, and damaged blocks have left residents frustrated. The poorly executed work has turned what should have been a restored main thoroughfare into a symbol of neglect.
Local citizens expressed strong dissatisfaction, pointing out that the blocks laid over the drains are already breaking apart, and the overall state of the street remains unsafe and inconvenient. For Noorpur residents, Lambi Gali is not just a road but a vital artery of the town, and its current state has sparked anger and disappointment.
Residents have appealed to the administration to take urgent corrective measures and ensure proper repair work so that Vinay Gali regains its dignity and functionality, befitting the legacy of the martyr it commemorates.
