In a major success against drug trafficking, Nurpur district police have seized 42.64 grams of heroin (chitta) and arrested one accused during a raid.
Acting on a tip-off, a joint team of the CIA unit and Dumtal Police Station conducted surveillance in sensitive areas including Kandwal, Lodhwán, Dumtal, and Channi. Near Toki, police received credible information that Kuldeep Kumar, son of Gosha, resident of village Sangehad, Indora, was running an illegal drug supply network from his residence.
Following due legal procedures and in the presence of independent witnesses, police raided the suspect’s house and recovered the narcotics. The accused was arrested on the spot.
Legal Action
A case has been registered against the accused under Section 21 of the ND&PS Act at Dumtal Police Station. Authorities are now investigating the forward and backward linkages to trace the source of the consignment and its intended supply chain.
Nurpur Police reiterated its “zero tolerance” policy against drug peddlers and appealed to the public to cooperate in safeguarding society from the menace of narcotics.
