Police in Nurpur district have intensified their campaign against illegal mining, seizing two dumpers, one JCB machine, and one tractor in the past 24 hours.
The enforcement drive was carried out under the Mining and Minerals (Development and Regulation) Act. At Tanda Khad under Police Station Indora, one JCB and one tractor were impounded, while in the Riali area under Police Post Re, two dumpers were seized on Handwad Road. All four vehicles have been taken into police custody.
District Police officials emphasized that the crackdown on illegal mining will continue and warned that strict legal action will be taken against violators. Authorities also appealed to the public to share any information regarding illegal mining activities with the police, to help protect natural resources.
