The CIA team of Police District Nurpur has achieved success in its ongoing campaign against drug traffickers by recovering 20.61 grams of heroin (chitta).
Incident Details: On April 16, 2026, during patrolling in the Bhadroya/Damtal area, the police acted on a specific tip-off. A Hyundai i10 car (registration number HP-18A-5295) was stopped and searched. Upon inspection, 20.61 grams of heroin was recovered from the vehicle. The narcotics and the car were taken into police custody.
Accused Identified:
- Pradeep Kumar @ Shanga, aged about 52 years, resident of VPO Channi, Tehsil Indora, District Kangra.
The accused was arrested on the spot, and a case has been registered against him under Sections 21, 61, and 85 of the NDPS Act at Police Station Damtal. Further investigation is underway.
Nurpur Police appeals to the general public to support the campaign against drugs and immediately report any suspicious activities to the police helpline 112.
