Nurpur Police Demolish Drug Trafficker’s Illegal Property Under “Zero Tolerance Against Drugs” Policy

In line with the Himachal Pradesh Government’s “Zero Tolerance Against Drugs” policy, Nurpur Police have continued their strict action against drug traffickers and illegally acquired assets.

On May 13, 2026, local administration with police support demolished an illegally constructed house built by Sukhdev, son of Gurdial Chand, resident of Ward No. 09, Tehsil Indora, District Kangra (H.P.), on government temple land. Authorities confirmed that Sukhdev is a habitual drug trafficker with multiple cases registered against him under the NDPS Act.

Past Major Action: Earlier, on September 21, 2025, Nurpur Police registered FIR No. 120/25 at Police Station Damtal under Sections 21 and 29 of the NDPS Act. In that case, three accused were arrested and 22.65 grams of heroin, gold, silver, a digital weighing machine, and ₹4.70 lakh in cash were seized. During financial investigation, assets worth ₹18.08 lakh belonging to accused Lovjeet Kumar alias Labba of Bhadroya were identified and confiscated. The seizure was later confirmed by the competent authority in New Delhi.

Record Seizures: So far, Nurpur Police have conducted financial investigations in 16 cases, resulting in the confiscation of movable and immovable property worth over ₹26.63 crore — the highest in Himachal Pradesh.

Commitment: Nurpur Police reaffirmed their resolve to continue strict and effective action against drug mafias and anti-social elements, aiming to protect youth from drug abuse and maintain peace and law and order in society. The Himachal Pradesh Government remains committed to taking tough measures against drug traffickers and assets acquired through illegal narcotics trade.
