Continuing its intensive campaign against drug trafficking, Police District Nurpur achieved significant success by registering two separate cases and arresting two accused under the NDPS Act on January 21 and 22, 2026, acting on confidential information.
In the first case, under the jurisdiction of Jawali Police Station, the police recovered 262 grams of charas during a patrol operation at Dhan. The contraband was seized from the residential house of Rohit alias Krishna, son of Subhash Chand, resident of village Dhan, Matlahad, Tehsil Jawali, District Kangra.

Charas Recovered in Separate Operations at Jawali and Nurpur Police Station Areas
In another operation under Nurpur Police Station, the police recovered 176 grams of charas during patrolling at Jachh. The recovery was made from a tin-shed residence of Diwan Chand, son of Heeru Ram, resident of village Jamala Sharchi, Tehsil Banjar, District Kullu.
In both cases, FIRs have been registered under the NDPS Act at Jawali and Nurpur police stations respectively. The accused have been arrested, and further investigation and legal proceedings are underway as per law.
The Nurpur Police reiterated that their anti-drug drive will continue with full force to curb drug trafficking and protect youth from substance abuse.
