In a major crackdown against drug trafficking, Nurpur Police arrested two youths from Punjab with 6.44 grams of heroin (chitta) and seized their motorcycle during a special operation. The CIA Nurpur team, acting on a tip-off, intercepted a numberless TVS Apache motorcycle and recovered the narcotics from the possession of the accused.

Accused Details:

  • Anshu (21), son of Ravi Chaudhary, resident of Ward No. 31, Unchi Puli, Dhangu Road, Pathankot (Punjab)
  • Himanshu Chaudhary (20), son of Tarsem Chaudhary, resident of Ward No. 31, Unchi Puli, Dhangu Road, Pathankot (Punjab)

The recovered substance and vehicle were sealed and taken into custody. A case has been registered under the NDPS Act, and investigations are underway to trace the local contacts and supply chain links of the accused.

Significantly, this marks the 100th NDPS case registered by Nurpur Police in 2026, reflecting the district’s relentless and determined campaign against narcotics. The police reiterated their commitment to a strict Zero Tolerance policy towards drug trafficking, aimed at safeguarding the youth from its harmful impact.
