NSS Volunteers from Himachal Visit Parliament on Invitation of MP Suresh Kashyap

A group of 12 NSS volunteers from Himachal Pradesh visited the old and new Parliament buildings in New Delhi on August 11 and 12, 2025, at the invitation of Hon’ble Member of Parliament from Shimla–Solan–Sirmaur Lok Sabha constituency, Mr. Suresh Kashyap.

The delegation was led by Dr. Pankaj Chandak, District Nodal Officer (NSS), Sirmaur, and Ms. Twinkle, NSS Programme Officer.

Parliament Visit and Key Interactions

During the visit, the volunteers witnessed the live proceedings of the Monsoon Session and had the opportunity to interact with several dignitaries, including:

  • Hon’ble Lok Sabha Speaker Mr. Om Birla
  • Hon’ble Minister of Youth Affairs and Sports Mr. Mansukh Mandaviya
  • Hon’ble MP from Kangra Mr. Rajeev Bhardwaj
  • Former Chief Minister of Himachal Pradesh Mr. Jai Ram Thakur

The group also toured India Gate, Kartavya Path, and the Prime Ministers’ Museum, gaining insights into India’s democratic heritage and leadership legacy.

  • From Dr. Y.S. Parmar Government PG College, Nahan: Meenakshi, Sakshi, Roshni, Vishal, Vishal Sharma, Vijay, and Sunil Kumar
  • From Government College, Paonta Sahib: Kajal
  • From Chaura Maidan, Shimla: Abhijeet
  • From Solan: Damini
  • From Pajhota: Neeraj
  • From Renukaji: Pragati

Recognition and Reflections

Hon’ble MP Mr. Suresh Kashyap commended the volunteers for their active roles in nationally significant initiatives such as Disaster Management, One Tree for Mother, Viksit Bharat, and the Mera Yuva Bharat (MY Bharat) Portal.

Dr. Pankaj Chandak expressed gratitude to Mr. Suresh Kashyap, State NSS Officer Dr. Saroj Bhardwaj, NSS Coordinator Dr. Vinay Sharma, Regional Director (Chandigarh) Mr. Jai Bhagwan, Principal Dr. Vibhav Shukla, Mr. Motilal, and Mr. Prashant Bhartiya for their support and excellent arrangements in New Delhi.

The volunteers described the visit as an enriching and inspiring experience that deepened their sense of national pride and civic responsibility.
