No second extension for Himachal Chief Secretary Prabodh Saxena, given farewell in Shimla

Chief Secretary Prabodh Saxena was given a warm farewell at the State Secretariat in Shimla on Tuesday (September 30, 2025), marking the end of his tenure as the top bureaucrat of Himachal Pradesh. The farewell was organised by the Secretariat Administration Department.


In his address, Saxena said Himachal Pradesh had made remarkable strides since its formation, crediting the progress to the collective efforts of its people, leadership, officers and employees. He praised the commitment of state employees who, despite harsh weather conditions, had ensured smooth delivery of services.


Reflecting on his tenure, Saxena described the people of Himachal as hardworking and honest, adding that he always felt a sense of belonging, “like family,” in the state. He extended best wishes for the continued prosperity and well-being of the state and its people.


Additional Chief Secretary K.K. Pant lauded Saxena’s exemplary services and wished him a healthy and fulfilling life ahead. Secretary, Secretariat Administration, Rakesh Kanwar, welcomed the outgoing Chief Secretary at the ceremony.


On the occasion, retiring Secretariat officials, including Section Officer Umesh, Supervisor Murari Lal and Caretaker Rupinder Singh, were also felicitated for their services. Senior officers and employees of the State Secretariat attended the function.
