Chaudhary Narendra Nishu Mongra, District APMC leader, State Congress OBC Department president, and chairman of the 20‑Point Programme, undertook a whirlwind tour of villages including Dhugiyari, Sameerpur, and Bhangwar today.
During his visit, Mongra listened to residents’ grievances and resolved several issues on the spot. He directed officials to install additional electricity poles in Dhugiyari and Bhangwar to tackle persistent low‑voltage problems, with villagers agreeing to cooperate in the process. In Sameerpur, he ensured that blocked roads were cleared with JCB assistance.
Addressing the public, Mongra criticized the recent hike in toll fees at Kangra Toll Plaza, calling it an unjust burden on locals. He stated that imposing higher charges on an incomplete four‑lane road was unfair and accused the BJP‑led central government of adding extra financial pressure on people. He assured that the matter would be taken up with the concerned department by the Sukhvinder Singh Sukhu government to provide relief to affected residents.
