Bharmour–Pangi MLA Dr. Janak Raj has launched a unique safety campaign aimed at protecting both stray cattle and motorists. The initiative involves fitting stray animals with reflective (radium) collars so they can be easily spotted by drivers at night, reducing the risk of road accidents.
Dr. Raj stated that he had raised this issue in the Assembly two years ago, urging the government to prioritize safety measures for stray animals and commuters. “Other discussions can wait, but at least let us ensure their safety by providing reflective collars,” he emphasized.
On Tuesday, Dr. Raj distributed radium collars to workers of the BJP Yuva Morcha, Chaurasi Mandal, instructing them to place these glowing collars on stray cattle found along the roads. The collars will shine in the dark, alerting drivers and preventing collisions.
The MLA’s initiative has been widely appreciated across the region, with locals praising the practical step toward community safety.
