The District Legal Services Authority, Kangra, under the leadership of Chairman Chirag Bhanu Singh (District and Sessions Judge), successfully organized a National Lok Adalat on Saturday.
The initiative addressed a wide range of disputes including:
- Pre-litigation cases
- Negotiable Instruments Act (cheque bounce) cases
- Money recovery matters
- Labor disputes
- Electricity and water bill disputes
- Section 125 CrPC maintenance cases
- Compoundable criminal cases
- Motor accident claims
- Matrimonial disputes
- Land acquisition cases
- Revenue cases
- Other civil matters (pending and pre-litigation)
A total of 11,657 cases were taken up, out of which 8,415 were pending cases in court. The Lok Adalat achieved a significant settlement, with a recovery amount of ₹9,96,26,138.
This large-scale resolution highlights the effectiveness of Lok Adalats in providing speedy, cost-effective justice and reducing the burden on regular courts.
