Shimla: In a major step towards bridging the gap between academia and industry, a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) was signed today between APG University, Shimla and CTPL Next Gen. The collaboration aims to introduce a range of industry-aligned undergraduate courses designed to equip students with cutting-edge technical skills and enhance their career readiness.

As part of the agreement, APG University will offer specialized B.Tech programmes in Artificial Intelligence & Machine Learning, Data Science, and Cyber Security. These courses have been carefully designed to meet the demands of the rapidly evolving technology sector and address the needs of both current and future job markets.

Representing CTPL Next Gen at the signing ceremony, Dr. Sanjay Sharma, Associate Vice President, highlighted the importance of the collaboration. “This partnership is an effort to bridge the gap between academia and industry. Our aim is to provide students with practical knowledge and industry-ready skills so that they can succeed in their careers,” he said.

The MoU was officially signed on behalf of APG University by Prof. R.L. Sharma, Registrar. Speaking on the occasion, the Vice Chancellor of APG University expressed optimism about the partnership, stating, “We are highly enthusiastic about this collaboration. In today’s era, subjects like Artificial Intelligence, Data Science, and Cyber Security prepare students for global competition. The newly designed programmes will offer a blend of theoretical learning and hands-on practical training, including exposure to live projects and regular guest lectures and workshops by industry experts. This approach is expected to not only strengthen students’ academic foundations but also enhance their employability and innovation potential.

Both APG University and CTPL Next Gen believe that this collaboration will contribute significantly to building a robust technical talent pool in Himachal Pradesh and across the country. The initiative is also expected to open new avenues for students to contribute meaningfully to the field of technological innovation and development.
