In a major step towards simplifying and strengthening India’s tax system, the Modi government has unveiled the “Next-Gen GST 2.0,” hailed as the “New Tax Regime for New India.” Advocate Vishva Chakshu, State Media Co-Incharge of BJP Himachal Pradesh, described the reform as a powerful reinforcement of the vision of “One Nation, One Tax, One Market.”
Chakshu emphasized that the new system will not only reduce the complexities of taxation but also deliver direct benefits to traders, industrialists, small business owners, and the general public. He noted that a technologically empowered and transparent tax framework will curb corruption and enhance the credibility of tax collection processes.
He further stated that GST 2.0 will promote ease of doing business and accelerate the Digital India mission. Key features of the reform include a simplified return mechanism for small traders, timely tax credits, and a robust revenue base for states.
Calling it more than just a tax reform, Chakshu asserted that Next-Gen GST 2.0 will serve as a cornerstone of India’s economic self-reliance campaign. He concluded by affirming that under Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s leadership and the guiding principle of “Sabka Saath, Sabka Vikas, Sabka Vishwas, Sabka Prayas,” the nation is advancing rapidly on the path of development through this transformative tax system.
