MANDI: Kajal Rai Sadana, a girl from Mandi in Himachal Pradesh, has carved a remarkable niche for herself on the national stage at the tender age of 24. She has etched her name in the annals of achievement by clinching the top spot in the Short Service Commission (SSC) Combined Graduate Level (CGL) examination, a feat that resonates far beyond the serene landscapes of her homeland.
Kajal harboured a childhood dream of donning the uniform of the Indian Army, a dream that she has now turned into reality. Her journey culminated in securing the coveted first position nationwide in the rigorous SSC-CGL examination, a testament to her unwavering dedication and academic prowess.
From her early days, Kajal nurtured aspirations of serving in the Indian Army, and today, she stands on the cusp of fulfilling that dream. Having clinched the top rank in the examination, she is poised to contribute her services as a Judge Advocate General (JAG), either as a Lieutenant or Captain, following a comprehensive year of training at the esteemed Officer Training Academy in Chennai.
In her earlier attempts, she cracked the same examination with twelfth and fifteenth rank. In the third attempt, she silenced everyone with her top spot. Kajal’s triumph extends beyond her personal achievement; it radiates a wave of joy among her family and the residents of Chhoti Kashi. Her success story resonates as a beacon of inspiration for the youth, showcasing that determination and steadfast pursuit of one’s dreams can lead to unparalleled success.
The journey of this ambitious daughter of Himachal Pradesh is marked by academic excellence. Kajal completed her schooling at the renowned school DAVCPS, Jawahar Nagar, Mandi, subsequently pursuing law at Panjab University, Chandigarh. Her academic pursuits continued with post-graduation in criminology from the esteemed National Law University in Patiala.
Currently, Kajal is actively engaged in the legal arena, serving as a diligent legal researcher in the Punjab and Haryana High Court. Beyond her academic and professional pursuits, Kajal is a black belt holder in karate, having showcased her skills in numerous state and national-level competitions.
Kajal’s father Bhupendra Kumar Sadana, employed in a pharmaceutical company, and mother Anjana, a homemaker, have been beaming with pride at her exceptional achievements. Kajal attributes her success to the benevolent blessings of Yogi Baba Balak Nath and the guidance of her mentors. She emphasises the values of honesty, determination and the relentless pursuit of goals, proclaiming that even the formidable challenges can be overcome with unwavering commitment. Her younger brother is pursuing engineering from the NIT, Hamirpur.
