With the International Shivratri Festival just around the corner, the Himachal Pradesh government has introduced key changes in the district’s police leadership to strengthen security and administrative preparedness.
Senior HPPS officer Vinod Kumar (2006 batch) has been posted as the new Superintendent of Police, Mandi, replacing the previous incumbent as the district gears up for one of its largest annual religious and cultural gatherings.
In another important posting, Sakshi Verma has been given charge as SP Vigilance, Mandi, a move aimed at reinforcing vigilance operations and oversight within the district.
The reshuffle is being viewed as a strategic step to ensure effective law and order management during the festival period, when Mandi witnesses a massive influx of devotees, tourists, and cultural participants.
Police officials are expected to prioritise crowd management, traffic regulation, public safety, and enhanced security measures under the new leadership in the days leading up to the celebrations.
