In a spiritually uplifting ceremony, the devotional musical album Sangeetmayi Japji Sahib – Shri Satguru Nanak Dev Ji Ki Bani was formally released in Mandi with the blessings and inspiration of Shri Satguru Dalip Singh Ji.

The album was unveiled by the chief guest, IAS officer and Additional Deputy Commissioner of Mandi, Shri Gursimar Singh, in the presence of distinguished guests, religious leaders, and members of the Sikh community. Additional Superintendent of Police Abhimanyu Verma attended as Guest of Honour, while Dr Anupama Singh, former Pro Vice-Chancellor of Sardar Patel University, Mandi, was present as a special invitee.

Renowned Singer Duo Behind the Project

The sacred verses of Japji Sahib have been soulfully rendered and composed by Mandi’s celebrated singer duo, Arin Arora and Arshpreet Kaur Arora, whose musical journey and national recognition have brought pride to the region. The album’s music arrangement was done by Principal Ranbir Singh, a respected Hazoori Ragi of the Namdhari community, ensuring classical purity and spiritual depth.

Arin Arora, who began his professional career in 2006, gained prominence after winning Voice of Himachal in 2013. His wife and musical partner, Arshpreet Kaur, is an acclaimed vocalist, having won Voice of Punjab and reaching the finals of Voice of India and Sa Re Ga Ma Pa. Together, they have represented Indian music on prominent national and international stages.

A Four-Year Spiritual Journey

Speaking to News Radar, the duo shared that the project took far longer than expected. “We thought it would be completed in fifteen days, but the depth, discipline, and spiritual responsibility of presenting Japji Sahib in its true essence turned it into a nearly four-year journey,” they said.

They explained that the album was created with a deeper purpose: “Our aim was to present Japji Sahib in a musical format that resonates with today’s younger generation, which is increasingly drawn to film music. Inspired by Guru Ji’s guidance, we wanted Gurbani to become part of their daily lives in a form that is accessible, respectful, and spiritually enriching.”

Community Participation

The programme saw wide community involvement, with attendees including Shri Prithipal Singh, Councillor Hardeep Singh Raja, Harvinder Singh Tiger, Palvinder Singh from Gurdwara Shri Jeevan Nagar, Bhatia Ji, President of Gurdwara Shri Guru Gobind Singh, Mandi, and Sant Visheshwar Singh from Gurdwara Shri Dukh Nivaran Sahib.
