Indian Institute of Technology Mandi will host the third edition of SCEE Samarthya 2026, a two-day research symposium organised by the School of Computing and Electrical Engineering (SCEE), on March 14–15, 2026, at its campus.
The symposium will serve as a dedicated platform for PhD scholars and research students to showcase their work through poster presentations. It aims to encourage the exchange of ideas and foster interdisciplinary dialogue within the institute’s research community.
SCEE Samarthya 2026 will highlight ongoing research activities within the school in areas such as Intelligent Systems and Artificial Intelligence, Intelligent Communication Systems, Power Electronics and Drives, Control and Automation, and VLSI and Digital Technologies.
A key highlight of the event will be the Research Poster Exhibition, where scholars will present their research and interact with faculty members, students and fellow researchers. A panel of faculty will evaluate the posters, with Best Poster Awards to be presented to recognise outstanding research contributions and innovative ideas.
Speaking about the initiative, Laxmidhar Behera, Director of IIT Mandi, said the symposium reflects the institute’s focus on strengthening research culture among young scholars.
“The third edition of SCEE Samarthya highlights IIT Mandi’s focus on fostering a strong research culture among young minds. Such a platform allows our research scholars to present their work and engage in meaningful academic discussions. In today’s dynamic world, research is the key to setting new benchmarks for innovation and growth,” he said.
Aditya Nigam, Chairperson of SCEE at IIT Mandi, added that collaboration and dialogue play a vital role in advancing research.
“Research becomes stronger through collaboration and dialogue. With SCEE Samarthya 2026, we aim to offer our young minds an opportunity to present their research and receive valuable feedback and academic connections,” he said.
In addition to academic presentations, the symposium will include several community-building activities aimed at strengthening the SCEE community. These include a Cultural Night featuring performances by students and faculty members, along with a movie screening and community dinner.
Through initiatives such as SCEE Samarthya, IIT Mandi continues to promote research excellence, innovation and interdisciplinary collaboration while nurturing a vibrant academic environment.
