Five persons were injured when the multi-utility vehicle they were travelling in met with an accident in Bharadu area of Jogindernagar subdivision in Mandi district of Himachal Pradesh on Sunday morning.
The accident took place around 11.15 am when the jeep reportedly went out of control and plunged into a nullah.
The injured were rushed to the Civil Hospital at Jogindernagar by local residents. After receiving first aid, all the five injured were referred to Tanda Medical College and Hospital in Kangra for advanced treatment due to the severity of their injuries.

According to sources, the people were travelling in the jeep for personal work when the accident occurred. The exact cause of the accident remains unclear, but eyewitnesses suggested that the vehicle driver might have lost control due to a mechanical failure or sudden steering error.
Jogindernagar police station in-charge Sakini Kapoor confirmed the accident and stated that a case had been registered. “We have initiated an investigation to determine the cause of the accident. Further details will be shared as the inquiry progresses,” she said.
The timely response of local residents played a crucial role in minimising the impact of the accident. Witnesses reported that the injured were promptly rescued from the overturned vehicle and transported to the hospital without delay.
This incident has once again highlighted the need for enhanced road safety measures in hilly areas like Jogindernagar, where narrow roads and sharp curves often lead to mishaps.
