Chamba: A major road accident was narrowly avoided in the Churah area of Chamba district, Himachal Pradesh on Wednesday (March 5, 2025) morning as a private bus carrying eight passengers overturned in the middle of the road near Bhanjradu bus stand while en route to Tada.
According to information, the accident occurred just 200 metres after the bus departed from the bus stand. Passengers said they were fortunate that the bus did not plunge into a deep gorge beside the road.
The accident was reportedly caused by brake failure while descending from the Bhanjradu bus stand. Displaying presence of mind, the bus driver steered the vehicle towards the hillside, reducing the impact. As a result, the bus overturned on the road instead of falling into the gorge.
No major injuries were reported and the local authorities promptly arrived at the spot to assist the passengers. The passengers credited the driver’s presence of mind for saving their lives.
