Maharana Pratap Public School, Sehwan, celebrated its Annual Day with great enthusiasm and festive spirit. Themed “Bollywood Meets Folk”, the event showcased a vibrant blend of tradition and creativity.
The programme commenced with a ceremonial lamp lighting and a soulful group prayer. A Saraswati Vandana marked the beginning of the cultural performances. Renowned educator and academic advisor Rithula Singh, who has served in national and international institutions, graced the occasion as a special guest.
Dazzling Student Performances
Students from all grades delivered captivating performances:
- Kindergarteners charmed the audience with dance numbers on “Ye Chand Sa Roshan Chehra”, “Honthon Pe Aisi Baat”, and “Jai Jai Shiv Shankar”.
- Primary students presented a skit on environmental conservation.
- Grades 9 to 12 brought alive the valor of the Marathas through a dramatic tableau.
- Grade 3 students enacted the epic battle of Ram vs Ravan from the Ramayana.
- Grades 7 and 9 performed a dynamic piece on Shiv Nualla.
- Grades 4 and 5 mesmerized the audience with a rhythmic Taal presentation.
The event also featured folk dances and cultural glimpses from across India, including Uttarakhand folk, Garba, Nimbooda, Prem Ratan Dhan Payo, Jhansi Ki Rani, and solo expressions. An English play Mulan added a global touch to the celebrations.
Honouring Excellence
School President Colonel S.S. Rana and Mrs. Meenu Rana felicitated students for their annual achievements with special gifts. Principal Shalini Rana presented the school’s annual report, highlighting key milestones and thanked the chief guest and parents for their presence.
Educators as Nation Builders
In her closing remarks, Rithula Singh congratulated the school management, teachers, and students for the successful event. She emphasized the vital role of educators in shaping responsible citizens and nurturing individual talents. “Children, regardless of nationality, are alike in spirit. It is the teacher’s responsibility to guide them toward becoming good citizens,” she said.
