Reaffirms his resolve to ensure lawful conduct and justice in region
Kullu: Vikas Shukla, the Sub-Divisional Magistrate (SDM) of Kullu district in Himachal Pradesh, has dismissed as “fabricated” a video targeting him that is being widely circulated on Facebook and WhatsApp.
Speaking to The Newz Radar, Shukla stated that the video appeared to have been recorded by individuals affected by his recent orders to remove illegal encroachments in Kasol, a prominent tourist destination in Kullu.
According to Shukla, the miscreants had waylaid his official vehicle, a Bolero, and attempted to provoke him by shouting abuses, a situation clearly visible in the video. He claimed their apparent intent was to provoke him into stepping out of the vehicle, potentially to assault him.
“I recently discovered this video being circulated online, accompanied by threatening messages. It is a deliberate attempt by certain mischievous elements to intimidate me,” Shukla explained.
The SDM revealed that these individuals had been monitoring his movements for several months, waiting for an opportunity to tarnish his reputation. “I have learned that they were keeping an eye on me for a long time. A video was earlier shared online on December 6, showing them chasing my vehicle,” he said.
Reiterating his unwavering commitment to upholding the law, Shukla declared, “Illegal actions will always remain illegal, and I will not yield to any form of intimidation. I stand firmly for truth and justice and remain undeterred by such tactics.”
The SDM called on the public to disregard the baseless claims and reaffirmed his resolve to ensure lawful conduct and justice in the region. He said other traders of Kasol who had been doing their business lawfully, besides the local residents, had appreciated his drive against encroachments.
