Dharamshala: The Himachal Pradesh Board of School Education (HPBOSE) has received a bomb threat via email from an individual claiming to have failed the 2024 board examination.
The sender, identifying himself as Shivank, expressed frustration over the exam result and threatened to blow up the board office in retaliation.

Threatening email raises alarm

The email, received on Friday, carried a chilling subject line:
“Stay alert, I will shoot you down…”. Inside the email, the sender wrote: “HP Board, your time is up. You failed me in my results, right? Now it’s your turn. Okay? Goodbye and see you again. I will blow you up with a bomb. Got it? You failed me in 2024… Goodbye, HP Board.”

Board officials take matter seriously

Speaking on the matter, HPBOSE Secretary Dr Major Vishal Sharma stated that the cybercrime unit had been informed and an official complaint was filed on Saturday. He emphasised that such threats could not be taken lightly and the authorities were investigating the matter.
This is the first-ever bomb threat received by the education board in Himachal Pradesh, raising serious concerns about security and student frustration. As of now, no information about the sender’s identity has been confirmed and police are working to track the source of the email.
The authorities have assured that strict action would be taken against the perpetrator once identified.
