A meeting on traffic management was held today in Palampur market under the chairmanship of SDM Palampur Netra Meti, with officials from multiple departments and members of the traders’ association in attendance.
The meeting focused on the growing traffic congestion in the market area and frequent violations of rules by vendors. Traders’ representatives were invited to share suggestions, while officials outlined the steps planned to restore discipline.
Following extensive discussions, SDM Meti announced that a special drive will be conducted on January 3 and 4 in the Palampur market. During this campaign, vendors will be educated about traffic regulations, and challans will be issued against violators. Departments including the Municipal Corporation Palampur, Public Works Department, Revenue Department, and Police Department will actively participate in the initiative.
She further emphasized that awareness drives will be held every Friday and Saturday to ensure sustained improvement in traffic management and discipline in the market area.
The meeting was attended by DSP Lokendra Negi, Executive Engineer of Municipal Corporation Palampur Abhinav Saklani, Assistant Engineer of the Public Works Department Sarthak Sood, along with members of the traders’ association.
