Kangra district authorities hold meeting on healthcare quality assurance, biomedical waste monitoring

Dharamshala: A meeting of the District Quality Insurance Committee and Biomedical Waste Monitoring Committee was held at the DC office on April 23.

Representatives from the Health Department, Pollution Control Board, AYUSH Department, Animal Husbandry Department, non-governmental organizations, and the Indian Medical Association attended the meeting.

 

District health officer Dr Rajesh Kumar Sood briefed attendees on quality standards, while district quality assurance advisor Dr Deepika provided detailed information on Kayakalp, NQAS, and biomedical waste management.

The additional district magistrate directed health department officials to address deficiencies and proposed solutions. Further information was provided by district programme officer Dr Tarun Sood, who extensively discussed family planning and maternal mortality.

He highlighted the quality of services under the safe motherhood campaign and benefits from the Indira Gandhi Balika Suraksha Yojana. Also present were district programme officer Dr Anuradha, Dr Vandana, senior medical officer Dr Sunil Bhatt, and pediatrician Dr Swati. The additional district magistrate emphasized strengthening healthcare services while focusing on their quality.
