MANDI, February 5
Mandi BJP MP and actor Kangana Ranaut launched a sharp attack on Leader of Opposition Rahul Gandhi outside Parliament on Wednesday, accusing him of using “objectionable” language and repeatedly undermining the dignity of the House during the ongoing Budget Session.
Reacting strongly to Gandhi’s remarks in Parliament linked to the controversial “Epstein files,” Ranaut questioned his choice of words and alleged that his comments reflected a “corrupt mindset.”
“Look at his choice of words… the way he spoke about the Epstein files too, saying there is more ‘maal’ and ‘kebab’ in it. What can you expect from a person with such a rotten and corrupt mindset?” Ranaut told reporters.
‘Chaos and Disrespect in Parliament’
Ranaut further accused Gandhi of consistently showing disrespect towards Parliament and its members, alleging that his conduct contributes to disruption rather than meaningful debate.
“He has no regard for parliamentary decorum. He only creates chaos,” she said, calling his statements “highly objectionable” and reflective of poor political standards.
Rahul’s Attack on PM Modi Sparks Fresh Row
The remarks came after Gandhi alleged in the House that Prime Minister Narendra Modi was “compromised” due to potential revelations linked to the Epstein files and ongoing legal controversies involving industrialist Gautam Adani.
Gandhi claimed that such pressure had forced the Prime Minister into decisions that “sold out” Indian farmers, particularly in the context of the recent India–U.S. trade deal.
However, it was Gandhi’s reported use of the phrase “maal and kebab” while referring to the files that triggered Ranaut’s fierce rebuttal.
Verbal Spats Add to Budget Session Tensions
The political temperature remained high outside Parliament as Gandhi also exchanged barbs with Union Minister Ravneet Singh Bittu, calling him a “traitor friend,” prompting Bittu to label Gandhi an “enemy of the country.”
Gandhi also continued to highlight former Army Chief M.M. Naravane’s unpublished memoir, claiming he would gift it to the Prime Minister so that he could “read the truth” about the 2020 China border standoff.
Ongoing Clash Between Kangana and Rahul
This latest exchange adds to the growing war of words between Ranaut and Gandhi during the session. Ranaut has previously criticised Gandhi for citing “uncertified information” in Parliament and questioned his approach to sensitive national issues.
As the Budget Session progresses, confrontations between the ruling party and the Opposition appear set to intensify both inside and outside the House.
