Chamba — In preparation for the upcoming Manimahesh Yatra, a joint blockade operation was carried out today at the Tunuhatti check post—considered the primary entry point to Chamba district. The operation was conducted by personnel from the State Intelligence Unit of Chamba and Bhatiyat, in collaboration with the local police stationed at the check post.
During the blockade, vehicles entering and exiting Chamba were thoroughly inspected to ensure safety and compliance. Although the pilgrimage has not officially begun, police officers and staff at Tunuhatti are actively guiding devotees arriving early, especially amid heavy rainfall.
Pilgrims were advised to carry essentials such as raincoats, torches, and valid vehicle documents. Authorities also emphasized the importance of wearing helmets and following safety protocols to avoid any inconvenience during the journey.
DSP Bhatiyat, Yograj Singh, stated that the Manimahesh Yatra will officially commence on August 16. In anticipation, police deployment at Tunuhatti will be increased to ensure smooth passage and safety for all pilgrims. Entry will be permitted only after thorough checking, reinforcing the administration’s commitment to a secure and well-organized pilgrimage.
