Nurpur Police has intensified its campaign against illegal mining, conducting strict checks and patrols across the district. As part of this drive, multiple vehicles and machinery involved in unlawful mining activities have been seized.
During a checking operation in the Warikhad area under Police Station Damtal, a TATA truck (registration number PB-35-U-4289) was found transporting mining material without valid documents. The driver failed to produce legal papers, leading to an on-the-spot mining challan. Further legal action is underway.
Additionally, a police team from Police Post Dhangupir (under PS Damtal) impounded a tractor engaged in illegal mining. A challan has been prepared under the Mining Act, and the case will be forwarded to the Hon’ble Court of JMFC Indora for judicial proceedings.
Meanwhile, Police Post Kotla (under PS Jawali) carried out action in the Kotla Khad area, where an L&T machine involved in illegal mining was also impounded.
Nurpur Police has reaffirmed its commitment to continue the crackdown on illegal mining. Authorities have warned that strict legal action will be taken against individuals found involved in such activities.
