The Indian Institute of Technology Mandi will commemorate its 17th Foundation Day on March 30, marking another milestone in its journey as a leading centre of academic excellence, cutting-edge research, and nation-building.
The समारोह is expected to bring together distinguished leaders from academia, industry, and public service. Kris Gopalakrishnan, Padma Bhushan awardee and Co-Founder of Infosys, will grace the occasion as Chief Guest. Internationally renowned roboticist Oussama Khatib, Director of the Stanford Robotics Lab, will attend as the Distinguished Guest and address the gathering.
In a statement issued ahead of the event, Director Laxmidhar Behera said the Foundation Day represents a significant moment to reflect on the institute’s consistent growth trajectory and expanding academic footprint. He noted that over the past sixteen years, IIT Mandi has evolved into a hub of impactful research and innovation, reaffirming its commitment to nurturing talent, advancing knowledge, and contributing to national development.
The programme will also be attended by eminent Guests of Honour, including Timothy Gonsalves, Ajit Kumar Chaturvedi, and Vinay Kumar Pathak. The event will be presided over by K. J. S. Dhillon, Chairperson of the Board of Governors, IIT Mandi.
Established in 2009, IIT Mandi has steadily positioned itself among India’s premier higher education institutions. Situated in the scenic Kamand Valley of Himachal Pradesh, the institute has developed a vibrant ecosystem fostering interdisciplinary learning, innovation, and entrepreneurship.
