IIT Mandi seeks applications for short-term certificate programs in machine learning, IoT-based automation

Mandi: The Centre for Continuing Education (CCE) at the Indian Institute of Technology Mandi in collaboration with Himachal Pradesh Kaushal Vikas Nigam (HPKVN) is set to launch multiple training programs from January 15, 2024.

These free-of-cost programs aim to provide valuable skills and knowledge to participants, fostering professional development and contributing to the overall advancement of education and vocational training in the region.
Speaking about the training programs being offered by the institute, Prof Tushar Jain, head, CCE, IIT Mandi, said, “HPKVN, Shimla, is sponsoring these programs in collaboration with IIT Mandi and will be a great opportunity for the youth of Himachal to experience studying at IIT Mandi under the guidance of senior faculty and get practical exposure on advance IIT ‘s labs along with placement support.”

The courses are open to engineering, BCA, MCA, ITI, polytechnic, teachers, trainers, and working professionals. The duration of the course will be one month. Registration for these free offline courses has already started and will continue till January 12, 2024.
The focus of these programs will be on soft skills, English speaking, interview preparation, personality development, group discussions, entrepreneurship skills, and startup support will be provided for the holistic development and career success of the candidates.

The student will learn mathematical foundations, Python programming, statistical foundations and visualization data, visualization and pre-processing machines, learning and applications, and other areas in this certification program.

These elements will help the candidates not only learn theoretical concepts but also gain practical skills that are directly applicable to the industry. The combination of programming, application development, web development, and hands-on lab sessions prepares them for a diverse set of challenges they may encounter in the IoT field.
