As in previous years, the historic Shri Brijraj Swami Temple in Nurpur will host grand Holi celebrations, announced Gaurav Mahajan, President of Raja Sahib Dussehra and Ramlila Club, in a press release.

Mahajan stated that the festivities will span two days: Flower Holi on March 2 and Color Holi on March 4. On March 2, singer Tinu Singh will enthrall the audience, while on March 4, Voice of Punjab winner Gaurav Kaundal will mesmerize devotees with his melodious voice.

The temple’s Holi festival has grown into a major cultural event in recent years, attracting not only locals but also visitors from surrounding areas. Mahajan, son of the late Rakesh Mahajan—credited with giving Nurpur’s Dussehra and Janmashtami festivals a distinct identity—has been instrumental in elevating the Holi Mahotsav to similar prominence.

He appealed to residents to participate wholeheartedly in the celebrations, noting that Nurpur Bazaar will remain closed on March 4 for the festival. “Holi is a festival that breaks down walls of hatred and unites people across communities. Even foes embrace each other on this day,” Mahajan emphasized.

The two-day event promises to showcase the vibrancy of Hindu culture, friendship, and unity, making it one of the region’s most anticipated celebrations.
